Finding a Fairy Tale Wedding in Scotland
Now that I’ve met my prince charming and he has asked for my hand in marriage, plans are getting underway for our big day, we are looking at a July wedding in Scotland and have been thinking about booking our Gretna Green Wedding at the Gables-Hotel-Gretna.co.uk!
Where to begin? Planning a wedding can be an exciting but stressful affair that is why we decided to get a head start on things. First things first we decided to choose a venue. We have been doing some research and came across wedding venues in Grenta Green Scotland.I have heard a lot about this area, a very romantic area with beautiful old buildings. Could it be the perfect backdrop for our big day?
After looking at few venues online we found one in particular that jumped out. This one was Anvil hall. An old church that had been converted into a wedding venue, the pictures looked amazing, but before we could make a final choice we had to see it for ourselves. Time for a little road trip! I packed some snacks and my fiancé and I jumped in the car and headed for Gretna Green Scotland.
As we stepped into the hall we were taken back, it was magnificent. The Beautifully lit up arched ceilings give you an amazing sense of space. I could just picture my family and close friends seated on the antique chairs as I walk down the royal blue carpet in my gorgeous gown to meet my future husband and to complete the whole affair they have a kissing gate as well – the perfect place to for those wedding album photos. The particular Gretna Green Wedding Venue was free in July so we didn’t hesitate to book it straight away as these places can get booked up rather quickly. With the venue out of the way I felt slightly more relieved and excited.
Next up was the photographer! They should also get booked quite far in advanced, especially if you are looking for a well-known wedding photographer. It is good idea to meet with a few and check out their portfolios before making a final decision. We had a look a few portfolios before settling on the services of a photographer that specialises in black and white wedding pictures.
With these decisions out of the way, we still have a long road ahead. The all-important wedding dress to decide on invitations to design send out, flowers to arrange, food to organise and I’m not even sure what else? I think we may need to call upon the services of a wedding planner!
