Reception Locations

If you are searching for a venue for your wedding reception, you may be looking for some tips on what to focus on. Here are some guidelines to help you choose the perfect location for your reception!

- Size matters: by now you should have a solid number on exactly how many guests will be attending your wedding. Use this to determine the size of the reception, and in turn, the size of the location. Having 50 guests, and having 100 guests, will require completely different locations.

- Needs and wants: obviously you need room for all the guest reception tables, but you also may want a dance floor and a bar. These are things to look at when you consider venues for your reception.

- Lights, Camera… the lighting of your reception will set the mood for the party, so be sure there is proper lighting, or room for you to have your specific lighting brought in. If you are looking for a cozy atmosphere, direct, florescent lighting of a reception hall may not be what you’re looking for. For indirect, warm lighting, try diffused sources such as lanterns or string lights.
