Reception Planning
When considering the location for your reception, there are a few key details that you may not even think to look for, but can make your wedding go a whole lot smoother.
For example, if you have hired a wedding band, you need to consider the acoustics of the venue. Some locations aren’t built to amplify music, and it can quickly become annoying to guests and ruin your party. This is also something you wouldn’t realize until the hour of your reception, so be sure you give some noise a try!
Another example is outlets. It may seem simple, but it can make the difference between last minute extension cable hunting and cord chaos. Skim around the walls on your walk through, and be sure there are enough, even if you aren’t sure how many you need, five in the entire room is a bad sign, especially for the band!
Parking is also something you may not think of, but your guests will be the first to discover. If there is a large, safe, free parking lot nearby, you should be fine. If it’s paid, be sure you warn them. If there aren’t any options, be sure there is a shuttle or transport service.
